Delivery Driver Ralph Ashley Dies After Falling Under Truck In Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, Md. (WJZ) -- A Nottingham delivery driver was killed Monday in Aberdeen when he fell out of his truck and it rolled over him, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Ralph Calvert Ashley, 58, was not wearing a seat belt when the incident occurred just before 1:40 p.m. in the southbound lane of the 200 block of Golf Drive, according to a statement from the office.

After he fell, his FedEx truck rolled over him and continued for another 36 feet before stopping in the grass on the side of the road. Ashley was declared dead at the scene.

Sheriff's deputies are not sure why Ashley fell out of the truck, but said he may have had a medical emergency. The investigation is still continuing.
