Sometimes it doesn’t matter what top or pant you have on. Sometimes the making of an outfit is all in the necklace… or shoes, or bracelets or hat. I’ve rounded out some of the best places accessible to Baltimore residents to get the best accessories for your outfits.

This trendy accessories store is a hidden gem in the Baltimore area. The small chain offers nothing but accessories, ranging from purses to umbrellas. If you want a really cute handbag or a statement-making jewelry piece that won’t fall apart when you leave the store, I suggest paying our friend Laila Rowe a visit.

If you’ve ever just wanted to pick up some accessories from Forever 21 without having to navigate through a mob of people and 3,000 sq. ft of clothes, For Love 21 was made for you. For Love takes the accessories part of Forever 21, isolates it and organizes it for an easy shopping experience. You’ll still find all of the trendy jewels, bags and scarves that you’d find at Forever, just with a larger selection. There’s no way you can leave this store without making a serious improvement to your outfit, and to think, for just a few dollars.

Behind the chic skirts and workforce blazers, H&M offers quite a selection of accessories from headbands to shoes. I suggest visiting this contemporary closet for colorful fall scarves and artistic feather earrings. I’ve also gotten fun clutches from the store, great if paired with their more conservative outfits.

Charming Charlie

Annapolis Mall
2002 Annapolis Mall
Annapolis, Md. 21401

This store is so charming it’s a bit overwhelming! Never in my life have I seen so many accessories. Charming Charlie is an accessory warehouse filled with shoes, handbags, hats and necklaces. The shop is divided into colors, making it easy for you to go to the section that will provide the best look for your outfit. And if you don’t have an outfit planned, no worries. Charming Charlie sells clothes as well. This place literally sells everything you could possibly need for an outfit, minus underwear.

Joann Fabrics

Perring Plaza Shopping Center
1951 Joppa Road
Parkville, Md. 21234-2733
(410) 661-8455

A fabric store might seem like an odd place to go to enhance an outfit. No, I won’t suggest you bejewel your blouses but it will take a little craft work. Joann’s is one of many craft stores that sell buttons, the must-have ingredient for homemade earrings. Pick your favorite buttons, buy a pack of stud backings and hot glue away. If you can’t find the earring you want, making them is always an easy and relatively cheap option.

Baltimore, Md. 21236

I’m always excited when I walk into Aldo. Their shoe selection is amazing enough to get me through the door and it really helps that they always have really nice handbags and jewelry to keep me interested. When shopping for shoes (the most important accessory of all), Aldo is the first place you should go for really trendy shoes that are reasonably priced.
