Clifton Park was Baltimore's first public golf course. It was built in 1915 and offers amazing views of Baltimore. Clifton Park is a troublesome course, however; there are several uneven lies.

Greystone is one of the sites of the Maryland State Amateur Links Championship tournament. It is held there every other year. In 2009, it was named one of Golf Week's "Best Courses You Can Play." Lessons are available from PGA professionals.

Mount Pleasant has a classic design and has been ranked the 12th best municipal golf course in the country. Arnold Palmer has played on this course, when it was the home of the Eastern Invitational Tournament. It held that distinction for 13 years.

Lutherville, MD 21093
(410) 252-7612

Pine Ridge's driving range is open until 10 p.m. in season. It was the home for several PGA and LPGA tournaments (including the Eastern Open and the Greater Baltimore Golf Classic). There's an LPGA instructor on staff.

Turf Valley

Turf Valley has 36 holes of golf and features two separate courses, both 18 holes. The original course is more traditional and the Hialeah course is more of a "shot-maker's course." There is also a spa, gym, pool and tennis court, so even if you're there with non-golf fans, everyone will be happy.
