Calvert Cliffs State Park is a unique sandy beach that features incredible fossils, a recycled tire playground, freshwater, tidal marshland and numerous hiking trails. The massive cliffs in the state park dominate the shoreline of the Chesapeake Bay and are believed to have been formed over 15 million years ago, way after the Miocene period ended.
