Best Bars With Infused Vodka In Baltimore

Vodka infusion is a practice which has become an art in the already artful world of bartending. It involves covering a tasty item — usually fruit — with vodka and letting the flavor of the fruit become one with the flavor of the alcohol. Of course in Baltimore, a town known for its exceptional bars and brilliant bartenders, one may find corners of the city wherein this fruity drink is served up like no other. Check into this list and see.

Wit And Wisdom
200 International Drive
Baltimore, MD 21202
(410) 576-5800
www.witandwisdombaltimore.com

A restaurant and cocktail lounge attached to the Inner Harbor's famous Four Seasons hotel, Wit and Wisdom has been bringing true class to Baltimore's bar scene for several years now. Founded by celebrity chef Michael Mina, this locale is famous for its upscale atmosphere and panoramic view of the Chesapeake Bay. But as you relax and soak in the atmosphere in its lounge, cast your eyes upon the "infusion" section of the menu. What you will immediately notice is that these infusions are all made in-house, such that the vodka has been soaking up the fruity flavor since it was first poured. W&W offers several different types of infusions, but its vodka is infused with a strawberry basil, giving it just a hint of the strawberry flavor while remaining dry with a creative after-taste.

The Stalking Horse
26 E. Cross St.
Baltimore, MD 21230
(410) 244-6722
www.stalkinghorsebaltimore.com

For a definite party atmosphere, you'll want to head out to The Stalking Horse. Filled with equestrian-related nick-knacks and decor, Stalking Horse rocks the night scene with DJs and dancing, but it serves its vodka 'round the clock. In fact, vodka is one of Stalking Horse's major public selling points. Its website boasts loudly about the "75 flavors" of vodka on the menu. Lucky for you, there are more than a few infusions among them. Yes, if you are looking for variety all in one place, Stalking Horse has you covered. Head on in and sample a few from its "Vodka Club."

Maggie's Farm
4341 Harford Road
Baltimore, MD 21214
(410) 254-2376
www.maggiesfarmmd.com

Much as the name suggests, Maggie's Farm offers a down-home appeal with a bar atmosphere which is quaint and laid-back. Everything it does draws from fresh food and produce plucked and delivered from local farms, and that includes the infusion of its own booze. However, with Maggie's you're never quite certain exactly which infusion or which flavor you're going to get. It all depends on what is seasonal and what they've brewed up in the kitchen that week — as indicated by the name of the bar's signature infusion cocktail: Random-ade. One thing you can be certain of, however, is that it will be tasty.

The Food Market
1017 W. 36th St.
Baltimore, MD 21211
(410) 366-0606
www.thefoodmarketbaltimore.com

Re-structured inside a former grocery store, The Food Market has made itself well-known in the Baltimore area for its Americana food and its traditional cocktails. The fact that the food and drinks lean toward the traditional, however, does not mean that it isn't every bit worth stepping in for a sip. Take its house-infused jalapeno vodka Bloody Mary, for instance. No one can argue that the Bloody Mary stands as a true classic, however infusing the vodka with jalapeno before serving it up is a stroke of sheer genius symptomatic of the kind of creativity The Food Market pours into everything it does.

Gertrude's
10 Art Museum Drive
Baltimore, MD 21218
(410) 889-3399
www.gertrudesbaltimore.com

You would naturally expect that any cocktail whipped up inside the Baltimore Museum of Art would be, itself, a work of art ...and you'd be right. Gertrude's is both a bar and an eatery featuring New American food and drinks, while adding the local Baltimore flavor to them. Take, for instance, its "Dirty Gertie," which combines lemon peel-infused vodka with the bar's own special mix, then adding a shrimp and plenty of Old Bay. Another Baltimore-seasoned treat would include the "Dr. Claribel's Love Potion," an oyster shooter, lemon peel-infused vodka and a little bartender magic to seal the deal. Park yourself at Gertrude's bar inside the museum and take in some art. If you have some time, maybe look at the paintings.
