If you’re looking for a night of dancing and live music, Baltimore Soundstage should be your destination of choice. The venue, formerly known as Mist, features some of the best live acts in the nation, and the likes of Thomas Gold, Nikka Costa, and Pusha T have graced its stage. Soundstage features many shows that are open to the under 21 crowd throughout the year and provides a great and vibrant atmosphere for its visitors. Grub on chicken fingers or quesadillas before the show and then take in a unique nightlife experience with some of the best live music in town.

The Dox, as it’s known to locals, has been a nightlife staple in the area since 1991. Featuring some of the hottest musical acts over its 21 years, this club fits the bill for those looking for late night food, dancing and fun. On Friday nights, the club promotes its 18 and over event and features some of the best music and dancing in the area. The club’s vibrant lighting and music systems are unrivaled and party-goers can listen to DJs performing various sets throughout the night. As an added perk, the first 100 visitors to present their college IDs will get free entry into the club. Come to hear some of the best and most popular R&B, reggae, and hip-hop tracks and stay for the pizza, smoke machines, basketball court and two dance floors.

For those wanting to experience upscale nightlife in downtown Baltimore, Lux Lounge is the spot. Located in the heart of the city, Lux features some of the best dancing and music of any nightclub in the area. Although the club mostly features events for the 21 and over crowd, it does promote college nights throughout the year for those 18 and up. Lux’s two floors feature top 40, hip-hop and pop music and also boasts a very popular restaurant on the lower level. Expect a strict dress code policy to be enforced, so come dress to impress for entry.

Sonar is another popular music venue that hosts everything from underground acts and famous punk and alternative bands to local artists and DJs. While this may be the “dive bar” of music venues, Sonar provides an intimate concert experience and you’ll always have a good view of the stage, no matter if you’re enjoying the performance from the main stage or in one of the two smaller rooms. Most of the shows here are 18 and up, and you can’t beat the free parking across the street.

The lounge features a swank restaurant and vibrant nightlife, and the under 21 crowd is welcome up until 10 p.m. Red Maple is located in the famous Mt.
