With Halloween just around the corner, all things pumpkin are on the mind. From beverages like pumpkin beer to regular, dairy-free and sugar-free desserts, a dash of pumpkin in the fall makes all things more delicious. Many pumpkin treats are only available for a limited time, so don't delay in trying the deliciousness. Check out these pumpkin-based treats to set the mood for crisp, falling leaves and cooler temperatures.

Baltimore's most well-known brewery, Heavy Seas, has created its own pumpkin beer. Great'ER Pumpkin blends aromas of bourbon, cinnamon, ginger, allspice and clove into the orange mix. The beer is bourbon-barrel aged with notes of oak, vanilla and bourbon. Best served in a snifter,  Great'ER Pumpkin is available only in September and October, so find your local Heavy Seas distributor and stock up.

Taharka Brothers has been recognized not once, but twice as Baltimore Magazine's "Best Ice Cream" (2009, 2010). With such sweet accolades, it's understandable that fans jump at the chance to try the shop's pumpkin ice cream. Made from milk from "cows that eat grass" and other ingredients sourced from local farms, Taharka Brothers focuses on all-natural products when creating its sweet treats. As an added bonus, the company employs youth in a special managerial program, so buying Taharka Brothers means giving back in Baltimore, too.

The Helmand opened its doors to Baltimore in 1989 and has been integral in introducing Afghan cuisine to the city. Named after the owner's son and the famed Helmand River, the restaurant serves pumpkin year round. Sourced from a local farm, Fig Leaf Farms, Helmand creates a dish called kaddo borwani with its pumpkins. The pan-fried baby pumpkin is seasoned with sugar and served with a yogurt garlic sauce. The pumpkin cupcakes are also dairy-free and the pumpkin muffins are a delicious best seller. Sweet 27 supports local businesses by sourcing from nearby farmers and vendors. Like Sweet 27, Weber's Cider Mill Farm also offers more than one treat of the pumpkin type. Pumpkin pie is an autumnal staple, and Weber's Farm offers a sugar-free pie. It also sells a pumpkin roll, rolled with a delicious cream cheese filling. Customers can stop by the farm for the pumpkin treats and also enjoy freshly pressed apple cider, farm-fresh turkeys and a variety of fruits and vegetables. Orders can also be placed online at least 48 hours prior to pick up at the farm.
