Dinner theatre is a great way for the family to have a meal and a enjoy show at the same time. It is great to see the servers wait on tables, then transform into the actors and share their talents with the audience. While there are not many dinner theatres available in the immediate Baltimore area, there are still places where one can see a good show just by venturing beyond the city limits. Just outside of Baltimore, this dinner theatre, in existence for five years, is located inside the Best Western Hotel and Conference Center. The food includes a varied menu of appetizing entrees which are sure to please the finickiest of eaters. The wait staff transform to become the actors in the play after everyone has been served. The current feature, 1776-The Musical, gives insight into the minds and attitudes of the forefathers who were instrumental in the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The musical started April 23 and runs through July 5, 2015.

The Baltimore Actors Theatre has made this venue their place for performances. The theatre is located in Hunt Valley, in the beautifully spacious and picturesque park of the same name. According to the website, the productions have live musical accompaniments with a vast cast of performers, as well as colorful costuming and staging. Heidi will be performed during the months of July and August. This is the story of a young girl, recently orphaned, who is sent to live with her aging grandfather in the Swiss Alps. Heidi is very headstrong, but manages to impact his life in a major way, which has consequences of its own.

Jousting is the state sport of Maryland. This venue features knights donned in armor engaged in jousting, horsemanship and falconry with patrons seated ringside. Although they do not fight to the finish, they demonstrate their skill as warriors.The dinner theatre includes a four-course meal which features oven-roasted chicken, but a vegetarian menu also In addition to the jousting show, there are special events available, including birthday celebrations.
