Streets To Close For Christmas Tree Lighting In D.C.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Streets in downtown Washington are closing for the annual National Christmas Tree Lighting.

The ceremony on the Ellipse, south of the White House, is scheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m.

Beginning about 4:30 p.m., 17th Street between New York Avenue and Constitution Avenue will be closed, as will 15th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue/E Street to Constitution Avenue.

Parking restrictions also will be in place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on 15th and 17th streets, from Pennsylvania Avenue to Constitution Avenue.
