FirstEnergy Picks Williamsport For Md. HQ

WILLIAMSPORT, Md. (AP) -- FirstEnergy Corp. says Williamsport will be home to its new Maryland operations center.

The Akron, Ohio-based company announced the location Friday after completing its acquisition of Allegheny Energy Inc. of Greensburg, Pa.

The merger affects about 250,000 Maryland customers of Allegheny Energy.
