Baltimore Greets Spring With Flowermart
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Spring is here and so is a Baltimore tradition that has been around for a century: Flowermart.
The annual festival that began in 1911 will take over Mount Vernon on Friday and Saturday with lemon peppermint sticks, the traditional hat contest, a pet parade, the Hilda Mae Snoops Art Contest and a new costume contest.
Vendors will be offering plants, gardening specialty items and tasty treats.
There will also be representatives from neighborhoods, community groups, schools, government agencies and wellness organizations.
