FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Frederick County authorities are investigating a house fire in Frederick they believe was set by someone throwing a burning Molotov cocktail onto the roof.

The fire was discovered early Monday morning on Ridge Road in Frederick.

Investigators say a home owner was awoken to find the shrubs at the front of his house on fire. He extinguished the blaze but later found fire damage to his roof and the remains of a bottle.

Investigators say the Molotov device was likely thrown onto the roof of the home before falling and breaking. That spread fire in the front yard. No injuries were reported.
