BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Baltimore police search for a man they believe is robbing women in the Canton neighborhood.

Detectives say Jerry Hercum, 26, targeted four women at Boston and Aliceanna streets, stealing their cell phones, purses and wallets.

It happened in the early morning hours on July 23. Police believe Hercum is armed and may be connected with other robberies in Southeast Baltimore. Call the police if you have any information on his whereabouts.

Baltimore is as bad as Philly when it comes to crime, but Philly has the flash mobs.

Just goes to prove this thug is a coward. He selects women (probably older women) to rob. Why doesn’t this coward select a policeman, fireman, large man, etc. to rob?. Simple answer: he has the advantage and with this advantage he has control, making him a COWARD.

I would like to meet him on the street and have him attempt to rob me. I would pull his liver out of his gut with my bare hands and feed it to his baby momma and any little monkeys he created.

While all the comments here are, well, justified (but maybe a little racist), I’m a bartender in Canton and at about 2:10 a.m., any woman, young or old is fair game for a robbery. Usually, she is alone or with one or two girls – the safe bet is at least one, maybe two has had too much to drink and are easy prey for any robber; it doesn’t matter if it’s this guy or someone else. Ladies (and men, too), if you want to be safe, keep your wits about you, don’t drink to the point where you can’t walk, and get a taxi as soon as you can. O’Donnell Street and Boston Street in Canton are full of taxis between 1:30 and 2:15. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
