Nice Bridge In Southern Md. Reopens
NEWBURG, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Transportation Authority says a bridge carrying U.S. 301 over the Potomac River in southern Maryland has reopened.
The agency says the Harry W. Nice Memorial Bridge reopened shortly before 6 a.m. Sunday.
Officials closed the bridge Saturday night after sustained winds of 59 mph with gusts over 60 mph created unsafe driving conditions.
The bridge links the Charles County town of Newburg to the Naval Surface Warfare Center near Dahlgren, Va.
