BLOG: Beautiful Days

The beautiful weekend will roll on with sunshine today and very warm temperatures once more across the Northeast, but changes are on the horizon. Signs of that change will appear as early as tomorrow with high clouds streaming in during the afternoon in association with a broad area of low pressure over the Gulf of Mexico. It's not out of the question that some sort of tropical entity briefly arises out of this, but it would appear that the window of time for development is brief.

Regardless, tropical moisture will continue to surge northward Monday and into Tuesday with rain arriving as early as late Tuesday afternoon. There remains considerable spread with regard to the timing of the deep moisture, so confidence is fairly low with regard to how much rain we'll see Tuesday night into Wednesday. If the ECMWF is to be believed, the answer is "not much." We'll keep the rain in the forecast, but I wouldn't sell the idea of a washout just yet. Thursday looks wet early on with some clearing possible late in the day and into Friday... but this too is uncertain. Could be unsettled next weekend as well with an upper-level low somewhere nearby (perhaps right overhead)!

Have a great day!
