Maryland Man Pleads Guilty To Sex Abuse Of Minor

BEL AIR, Md. (AP) -- The Harford County prosecutor says a 38-year-old Forest Hill man has pleaded guilty to one count of sex abuse of a minor and one count of a second-degree sex offense involving a minor.

State's Attorney Joseph I. Cassilly said in a statement Monday that Brian Joseph Flynn switched his plea from not guilty on the second day of trial in Harford County's circuit court. He says the victim was 4 at the time of the offense and is now 5, but didn't testify. The plea agreement calls for a 45-year sentence with all but 20 years to be suspended.

Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.

Cassilly says the child reported the abuse to a relative in July.

He adds Flynn must register as a sex offender under the plea agreement.
