Steve Davis: 'O' In Anthem
Mike Wise from the Washington Post wrote a column chastising Orioles fans for their use of "O" in the anthem. HERE is the link so you can be informed and irritated all at once.
We had him on the show, podcast HERE. He was mostly writing satire. That said, I find it a ludicrous premise, considering that, for about 30 years when DC didn't have a team, they called the Orioles their own, and as a result, many of the same people he is addressing are guilty of what he finds so offensive.
In addition, the big team in DC, the Redskins, have one of the most offensive names in all of sports. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Also, no one is belittling the anthem, they're just showing their pride in Baltimore. It beats talking through or ignoring the anthem, right?
