Weezer To Headline Saturday's Charm City Music Festival

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- It promises to be one of the biggest music events in the Baltimore area this year, and it will happen at a spectacular setting.

Ron Matz reports on the preparations for Saturday's Charm City Music Festival.

The fences are going up. The stage is set for the Charm City Music Festival. The Harbor East waterfront will be the place to be.

Weezer is the headliner. There's 12 bands, two stages and a whole lot more. Mix 106.5's Maria Dennis says come on down.

"There will be a ton of bands, a crab and seafood tent, rides for the kids-- kids 12 and under are free, by the way," Dennis said. "It's just going to be an amazing time."

Local band Ballyhoo! is ready to rock. Howie Spangler and the guys hail from Harford County.

"We're from Aberdeen. To be part of a big event like this means a lot," Spangler said. "It's a good way to bring the whole city together."

The festival location is spectacular. It's on South Caroline Street between Harbor East and Fells Point.

"Hopefully, we'll get a lot of people to come together to celebrate the Ravens, the Orioles and the Charm City Music Festival," Dennis said.

Who knows? Maybe even Hef will make it to Charm City for one of the biggest events of the year.

The Charm City Music Festival begins at noon on Saturday. There will be fireworks at sundown. For ticket information, click here.
