Naming Rights Considered For Orioles Minor League Ballfield

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick city officials are considering hiring a Rockville-based firm to market naming rights to the city's minor-league baseball field.

Staff members will brief the mayor and board of aldermen Wednesday on their recommendation to award a $53,000 contract to Team Services LLC.

City officials agreed a year ago to market naming rights to the field and other features of Harry Grove Stadium. The name of the stadium will not change. One example of such an arrangement is Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver.

The city and the team would share the revenue from any sale of naming rights.

The Frederick Keys are a Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
