Firefighter Charged With Sexually Abusing Boys

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (WJZ) -- A warning from Baltimore County where a firefighter has been charged with molesting two boys.

Vic Carter explains police believe there are more victims.

The allegations are shocking. Police say Baltimore County firefighter Anthony Cottle raped two 14-year-old boys while living with one of the boys' families in Halethorpe.

"One of these boys came to us and reported that he had been abused by this man," said Elise Armacost, Baltimore County Public Safety. "He also told us that he told us that he had witnessed one of his friends, who was also a 14-year-old boy, being abused by this man."

All of the abuse reportedly happened between May and June of this year.

Now the 23-year-old has been suspended by the county fire department, where he was a probationary firefighter and by the Lansdowne Volunteer Fire Department, where he is listed as an active member.

He may be off the job and behind bars, but police worry that others may have been abused who haven't yet come forward.

"Our detectives believe there are likely other victims in this case," Armacost said. "If anyone knows anything about this suspect and his connection to any other victims...please contact us."

Cottle faces five counts, including sexual abuse of a minor and sodomy.

Cottle is currently being held on $150,000 bond.
