Trooper Seriously Injured After Crash
ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WJZ) -- A Maryland State trooper has been seriously injured following a crash in Howard County.
It happened around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on Route 70 near Route 32 in West Friendship near Ellicott City.
Cpl. Matthew Telep's cruiser struck a tree. Witnesses say they believe the trooper was cut off by another vehicle.
Telep was flown to Shock Trauma. He is in serious condition.
Telep is a five-year veteran of the force.
All lanes were closed as police investigated the cause of the accident.
