DC Hits Halfway Point In Potholepalooza Campaign

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Officials in Washington have hit the half-way point of Potholepalooza, their annual month-long campaign to fill in potholes, and say they've eclipsed the number of potholes filled during the entire 2012 campaign.

The District Department of Transportation website says workers filled 2,757 potholes during the first 14 working days of the 2013 campaign. The department says officials filled a total of 2,443 potholes during 2012's Potholepalooza.

This year's Potholepalooza began April 22 and ends May 22, giving the city two more weeks of work. It is the fifth annual Potholepalooza.
