LAUREL, Md. (WJZ/AP)–Maryland State Police say one person was killed when a car crossed the median on Interstate 95 in Prince George’s County and hit a tractor trailer.

Police say a northbound car crossed the median early Wednesday just north of the Intercounty Connector and hit a southbound tractor trailer.

State police say one person was killed inside the car, but no other injuries were reported.

At one point only one southbound lane was getting by the crash, causing major delays during the morning rush. The lane closures have been reduced to one lane of traffic.

The investigation is ongoing.
