WEATHER BLOG: It's Getting Hot, Hot, Hot...

The most prolonged stretch of #hot and #humid #weather this summer is upon us.

Highs Monday are forecast to reach the mid 90s in the Greater Baltimore Area, while the heat index will yield temps in the low 100s!

It is all thanks to a large high pressure system that has been camped out in the western Atlantic Ocean for the past week or so. It is beginning to spread out and influence the entire eastern third of the nation, creating a heat dome. We will feel even hotter on Tuesday and Wednesday with high temps in the upper 90s and dewpoints between 65-70 degrees.

Be sure to limit your time outside Monday and stay hydrated. If you must spend time outdoors, take breaks from the heat to cool down. How long will the heat last? For that answer and more, you will have to tune in to #WJZ at noon, 4 p.m., 5 p.m. & 6 p.m. for your updated #FirstWarning forecast.
