M&T Bank Stadium Gets A Makeover Just In Time For The Season

BALTIMORE (WJZ) --  A major facelift for M&T Bank Stadium as the Super Bowl champions gear up to start the preseason this week.

Mary Bubala has a look at the first installment of a $35 million investment for Ravens Nation.

The lower concourse has been completely re-designed. All the concrete has been softened with brick, purple accent lighting and digital signage to speed up service.

Team President Dick Cass showed the improvements inside the actual stadium. Fans will see four new LED high-def video boards on each side of the two giant Ravens vision boards, giving fans stats and game updates from around the league. Four new LED ribbon boards were installed to fully connect around the entire middle seating bowl.

"Very, very positive. They are excited. I think it shows a commitment of the Ravens to enhance the game day experience for our fans and that's what we care about," Cass said.

Along with the new concession stands come new food selections. There's a Gino's Burgers and Chicken stand, along with chef-inspired offerings like the Old Bay Shredded Chicken Sandwich and new signature hot dogs with gourmet toppings.

Fans will also find upgrades at team stores inside the stadium.

"It's really nice. I like all of the new purple lights," said one.

"It's impressive. That's the word. Impressive," said another.

The upgrades will be ready for the team's practice at the stadium this Sunday, which is free and open to the public.

The next phase of improvements focusing on the upper concourse will begin next spring.
