St. Mary's Co. Woman Hit By Van, Killed

ST. INIGOES, Md. (AP) -- Authorities in St. Mary's County say a woman was hit by a van and killed in St. Inigoes.

The county sheriff's Office says Shirley Jordan, 63, of Great Mills was walking across Three Notch Road on Sunday night when she was hit by a Chevrolet Sports Van.

Jordan was taken to St. Mary's Hospital where the sheriff's office says she succumbed to her injuries.

The sheriff's office says the driver remained on the scene and alcohol and speed do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash. The office's accident reconstruction team is investigating.
