Airports: Check Flights Before Heading Out

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Airports in the Washington region are urging passengers to check on their flights before heading to the airports as some flights have been delayed or canceled because of winter weather.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority says flight delays and cancellations are affecting flights at Dulles International and Ronald Reagan Washington National airports. Snow removal teams were out at both airports through the night to treat and clear the runways.

Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport also had canceled flights, among them flights to Boston and Chicago.

Among the stuck travelers were Emilio Lobato, his wife and two daughters. They had to spend an extra night in Washington following a long weekend sightseeing trip. Their flight home Sunday to Jacksonville, Fla., was canceled. They hoped to take a flight Monday to Tampa.
