U.S. Botanic Garden Opens Art Exhibit On Mid-Atlantic Plants

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The U.S. Botanic Garden on Capitol Hill is featuring a new exhibition of paintings and drawings of the native plants of the mid-Atlantic region.

The new show "American Botanicals: Mid-Atlantic Native Plants" went on display last weekend and will be on view through June 15. The exhibit includes artwork created by the Botanical Artists for Education and the Environment. Artist-led tours also are being held periodically.

The nonprofit botanical artists group also has published a new book of artwork on the native plants of the mid-Atlantic.

Admission to the Botanic Garden is free.
