BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A young father gunned down in the crossfire of gang violence in Baltimore City has been laid to rest.
A funeral was held Tuesday morning for Brandon Finney in Randallstown.
The 25-year-old Shock Trauma employee was on his way home from work when two men opened fire near his bus stop last week.
Police say Finney was not the target and was used as a human shield. The target, 20-year-old Christopher Camphor, also died.
The double homicide, according to police, is the result of a gang dispute between members of the Black Guerilla Family and the Bloods.
He leaves behind one-year-old son.
Two suspected BGF gang members—28-year-old Samuel Rogers and 25-year-old Antwon Morton– are charged in his murder.
Update, April 16, 2015 3:08 p.m. : Charges were dropped against Rogers and Morton after surveillance footage corroborates Morton’s alibi.
