Balt. Co. Police Investigate Shooting At High School

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- A man was shot Wednesday night at a Baltimore County high school, while students were still on campus at Hereford High in Parkton. Police say the victim was wounded with a BB gun and rushed to the hospital.

Christie Ileto spoke with police on the scene.

According to police, they were called to the school at 8 p.m. for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a male in his 50's suffering from wounds to his upper body. Those wounds may have been from a BB gun or a small caliber handgun.

Police are looking for the suspect. The weapon has not been recovered so it's likely the suspect still has it.

The victim's car is still draped in crime scene tape after being attacked by his ex-wife's boyfriend. The victim came to pick up his son when the argument turned violent.

"The ex-wife's boyfriend approached him, struck him in the face with a BB or pellet gun and then fired several shots into his face point blank," said Cpl. John Wachter.

The victim has been taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Police say the suspect stole his girlfriend's car, crashed it nearby and then fled on foot.

There were students on campus at the time of the incident but none were involved in the incident.

There are no reports of injuries other than to the adult male victim.

Anyone in the area who sees any suspicious persons or activity is asked to call 911.
