Western Md. Teacher Charged In Second Sex Case

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- A high school teacher in Frostburg faces allegations he had sexual contact with a second female student.

Forty-two-year-old Bart Mazer couldn't be reached for comment Friday on the charge of third-degree sex offense involving a 15-year-old student at Mountain Ridge High School in March 2013. Mazer has no home telephone listing.

The new charges were first reported by the Cumberland Times-News.

Defense attorney Steven Friend didn't immediately return a call from The Associated Press.

Mazer was charged in September with two counts of fourth-degree sex offense involving a 17-year-old girl in the fall of 2013.

Mazer was suspended without pay by the Allegany County school board at the time of his initial arrest.

A school website lists Mazer as a teacher of geometry, algebra and integrated math.
