BALTIMORE (AP) –The Atlanta Braves have found a replacement for recently-departed Jason Heyward, while the Baltimore Orioles lost another outfielder.

The Braves and free agent outfielder Nick Markakis have agreed to a four-year contract worth $ 44 million, pending a physical.

The 31-year-old Markakis spent the first nine years of his career with the Baltimore Orioles. This past season, he batted .276 with 14 homers and 50 RBIs.

Markakis will take over in right field for Heyward, who was shipped to the Cardinals last month
