Ravens Fans Taking Purple Pride To Foxboro

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- All aboard! Some Ravens fans are just a few miles and hours away from Foxboro. They left Friday morning on board a bus headed to New England.

But for fans who are staying closer to home, it's time to prep for purple parties.

Gigi Barnett has more.

Step aboard a bus bound for Foxborough and travel time turns into game time. Organizers started selling bus, game and hotel package deals last week. They sold out in a matter of days.

Fans say this weekend's game against the Patriots is a must-see in person.

"I go where my team goes, support them. You know how it is. We hear that 'O' real loud during the national anthem on TV," said Jermaine Butler.

Fans are packing patience, pride and positive predictions on their six and a half hour Ravens ride.

"I predict pain. We might win the game, we might lose the game. But we're going to beat the Patriots' butts," said Alan Covert.

Far away or close to home, game day get-togethers are on.

"We're going to have the kids and the adults. Everybody's going to be around the TV rooting on the Ravens," said Jean Gillis.

Even if you live in Australia--like the Richardsons.

"Probably have to have a day off to watch it cause we're in a different time zone, but we'll do something," said Malcolm Richardson.

Because the Ravens have beaten the Patriots in the playoffs before, confidence among fans has skyrocketed. Ravens retailers say sales have, too.

"I'll be wearing purple probably for the foreseeable future. All the way up until we buy tickets to Arizona," said Kevin Chaney.

And that is not a bad color to buy.

The group that organized the trip, BMORE Around Town, says it's already working on packages to Indianapolis and Denver.
