BALTIMORE (WJZ) —  It’s Oprah Winfrey’s 61st Birthday and we wanted to wish her a Happy Birthday!

Before she became the television legend the world recognizes today, she worked at WJZ-TV.

Here’s a #ThrowbackThursday video from when Oprah came back to Baltimore for a visit in 2011, right around the time she did her farewell season of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Oprah talked about her time at WJZ with her former co-host of the People Are Talking segment Richard Sher.

She came to Baltimore from Nashville in the fall of 1976 to be the 6 p.m. news anchor. The in 1978, she began co-hosting People Are Talking.
