Jeremy Conn: Questions For The Orioles Outfield

The one thing we know for sure is that Adam Jones will be in Center the entire season barring an injury. The real questions are about the corners and who should be starting on a consistent basis. The outfielders that I expect to be on the roster... De Aza, Pearce, Lough, Snyder and some think we might see Dariel Alvarez or even Nolan Reimold at some point this season. I don't believe there is anything to worry about defensively with any group they put out there. Unless we end up seeing Delmon Young in Left Field. I wouldn't even have Delmon bring a glove to the yard.

I believe we will see a ton of De Aza. He will obviously play against right handed pitching and seems like the best option to lead off for the Orioles. I believe Buck will play the Left\Right match up more times than not. I could see Buck allowing guys to play multiple games in a row, if the player gets hot. De Aza, Lough and Snyder are all left handed bats. Pearce, Delmon and Reimold are all right handed bats.

You are not going to fully replace the production of Nelson Cruz and Nick Markakis, but I do believe these guys can pick up most of the slack. I'm intrigued to see if there are improvements with Schoop and Machado at the plate.
