Drew Nicholas Recaps Duke's National Championship Win

Drew Nicholas of the Big Ten Network joined the Scott Garceau Show to put a bow on the 2014-2015 NCAA College Basketball season. Drew gives a ton of credit to Duke Freshman Guard Grayson Allen for coming up for the Blue Devils. Nicholas believes if the events that surrounded Rasheed Sulaimon hadn't happened, Allen would've never been heard from. "Here's an interesting aspect that I don't think a lot of people have talked about, remember when Rasheed Sulaimon got kicked off of the team? Well if those events didn't occur, Grayson Allen probably wouldn't have entered this National Championship Game. I think he finally started to get an opportunity to play once Sulaimon was kicked off the team and he kind of took on that role."

Wisconsin Head Coach Bo Ryan called out officials following the National Championship Game. Drew believes that it was just a showing of raw emotion after a tough loss. "It was emotional but at the same time I think that it could've been done in a better and more classy way. In my eyes it kind of sounded like he was bitter because he didn't get calls at the end of the game, and he was bitter because he lost."

The early season odds are out to win the National Championship next season. Maryland is viewed as a Top 5 team in the country and currently holds 12/1 odds to win the title next year. Drew believes the Terps have to stay humble to make an impact on the national landscape next year. "The only thing I don't want to see with the Terps is everybody tells them how good they're going to be and those guys don't work."
