Maryland Woman Charged After Lacing Roommates' Milk With Dead Skin Shavings

MECHANICSVILLE, Md. (WJZ) -- A St. Mary's County woman was charged with poisoning her roommates after she allegedly laced milk with her dead skin shavings.

Fifty six-year-old Sarah P. Schrock of Mechanicsville was arrested on May 6 for placing dead skin shavings from her feet in the milk at her home.

According to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's office, the three victims had returned home after being gone for most of the day and served themselves milk with dinner.

"After one of the victim's swallowed some of the milk, she began to choke on a substance in the milk," the sheriff's office said in its report. "She then coughed up the substance and discovered what appeared to be human skin. The second victim swallowed some of the milk and also felt something in the liquid. She immediately began to gag and cough up the milk along with the substance."

The victims poured the remainder of the milk into a strainer and found what appeared to be human skin shavings in the milk container

One of the victims told police their roommate Schrock shaves the bottoms of her feet and keeps the skin in trays in her bedroom.

Schrock was charged with three counts of assault in the second degree, poisoning of/contaminating food and for failure to comply with a peace order, according to court records.

She was jailed but released on May 8 after making her $10,000 bond, according to court records. She previously broke the peace order on May 3.
