Jim Hunter joined Scott Garceau and Terry Ford today on the Scott Garceau Show to chat about the state of the AL East.
Terry and Scott asked Jim what he thinks Bud Norris is lacking this year, “Command. He just doesn’t have it, for example, when you can’t command your fastball, everything else becomes much more difficult. When things are going bad, try easier, don’t try harder. When you try harder, you tighten your grip and the ball won’t go where you want it. His pitch selection is fine, but it’s the execution of that pitch that matters.”
With the all-star break just around the corner, Scott wanted to know who’s earned the most respect in the AL east going into the 2nd half. “The Blue Jays probably are that team, even though they’ve stumbled lately. They’ll have to make a move with their pitching. We know they can hit, we know they can club you, and win those 8-7 games on a regular basis although, the O’s beat them 13-9 in their last road trip up there).”
