Owners, CEO Of Va. Contractor Indicted On Bribery Charges

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- The CEO and three co-owners of a Falls Church military contractor have been indicted on charges they paid bribes to an Army National Guard colonel to obtain multi-million dollar contracts.

Federal prosecutors in Alexandria announced the indictments Wednesday against the three co-owners of Military Personnel Services Corporation and 55-year-old Ross DeBlois Sr. of Fairfax Station, the contractor's chief executive. Prosecutors say the men, all retired Army National Guard colonels themselves, paid bribes to Guard Col. Robert Porter of Columbia, Maryland, equaling 1 percent of a contract's value.

Porter has pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing.

The indictment alleges Porter received $32,000 in bribes for steering contracts worth over $5 million.

Calls to the contractor weren't returned and court records do not list an attorney for DeBlois or the other defendants.
