The Norris & Davis Show Best Of - Week Of January 16th

This week's edition of The Norris & Davis Show best of includes interviews with Gary Myers about Brady vs Manning, and Capitals color commentator Craig Laughlin about the team's amazing start to the season.

GARY MYERS

Gary joined Ed and Steve to talk about the Brady vs Manning rivalry and his new book on those two.

Gary started by talking about whether or not this is the end of Peyton Manning's career saying "I don't think that he wants to put himself through this physically...he has an incredible opportunity now with two more victories to win the Superbowl."

Gary then talked about Tom Brady at Michigan and why it didn't seem to work there saying "until his fourth year in the program he hadn't proven to Lloyd Carr that he was the best QB on the team." Gary also talked about a time when Brady went into Lloyd Carr's office and told him he was going to transfer back home to Cal, but eventually decided to stay at Michigan and finish his college career.

Gary also talked about the previous meetings for the two QBs and how he thinks this rivalry will finish this weekend. Gary also shared an incredible story of how the New York Jets almost had Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady at various points throughout their history.

CRAIG LAUGHLIN

Craig joined Ed and Steve to talk about the amazing start to this season for the Washington Capitals.

Craig started off by talking about if the Caps have some post season awards coming their way saying "yeah I think Trotz should be the coach of the year for the way he kept this team together...Holtby should win the Vezina but for the Hart he will have a battle with a couple of guys." As for T.J. Oshie and if he is surprised with his early season play Craig said "I am I thought he would be a different player...what has surprised me more than anything is he is such a hound on the puck, I always thought of him as a fancy Dan...he has brought more to the table than I ever thought."

As for roster moves the team may have to make when guys return from injury Craig said "I think they're solid in the top 6 but when you look at the bottom six you have a real road block...that's a good thing you have guys like Galiev and Latta who could be sent through waivers."

Craig also talked about some other hockey topics like whether fighting will remain in the game and rule changes he would make to improve the game.
