Approx. $400K Worth Of Heroin, Stolen Handgun Seized In Baltimore

BALTIMORe (WJZ)—After a multi-week drug investigation by the Baltimore Police Department, multiple items have been seized from a suspected home, including stolen handgun and heroin worth $400,000 on the street.

The investigation began weeks ago when a person in the community contacted the Metro Crime Stoppers about drug activity happening in the area.

On Tuesday night, Baltimore Police say they observed the suspect leaving a home and get into a vehicle which later led to a traffic stop.

During the investigation, police say they seized four kilos of heroin worth $400,000 on the street, approximately $80,000 in cash and a stolen 9mm handgun from North Carolina.

Baltimore Police commissioner Kevin Davis says the arrest wouldn't have been made without the community's help.

"We wouldn't be standing here today with this significant seizure of narcotics, cash and a firearm if not for a member of the community stepping up again," he said.

Detectives say one person, who has not yet been identified, has been arrested. Police say another suspect is also sought in connection to this investigation.

Authorities say the individual arrested appears to have "supplied a decent portion of the city".
