ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- Severe weather in parts of Maryland.

A flood warning has been issued for Carroll, Frederick and Montgomery counties until Thursday morning.

A flood watch for Anne Arundel; Baltimore; Carroll; Frederick; Harford; Howard; Montgomery; Prince George's and Washington counties is in effect until 7 a.m. Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service:

The combination of melting snow and periods of heavy rain could result in flooding of urban areas and streams this afternoon and tonight. Rainfall amounts will average between one half and one inch with isolated spots between one and two inches possible.

In addition, ice may be on some of the small streams which could enhance the flooding potential.

A dense fog advisory is also in effect for much of Maryland until 7 a.m. Thursday.

WJZ's FIRST WARNING WEATHER TEAM will have more details on WJZ at 11 p.m.
