Ryan Flaherty Of The Orioles On Having A Great Spring So Far

Ryan Flaherty is the Orioles utility player.

Ryan joined Ken and Steve to talk about how spring training is going so far.

Ryan started by talking about how well he is doing this spring and why some guys struggle in the spring and some are great year in and year out saying, "I think every guy is in a different situation. A lot of guys come in and get their work in but then there are guys like me who come in and get ready to go and keep grinding away."

As for whether or not he has realized he is now a veteran MLB player Ryan said, "the guys always tell me you're still the Rule 5 guy...but it's cool growing up as a kid you always want to play in the major leagues and to play for the Orioles organization has been a great four years."

Ryan also talked about the Orioles keeping certain players during this off-season and what it meant to the rest of the team saying, "retaining those 3 guys is huge...underestimating what O'Day, Wieters and Davis bring, not only on the field, but in the clubhouse. They're leaders on this team, that counts for a lot of wins in itself."

Ryan also talked about some rule changes coming this MLB season and whether they were needed or not, and whether or not Buck is teaching those new rules and ways to make plays since the change in rules.
