Photo Of Maine Teen Celebrating Her Birthday Alone Goes Viral

BANGOR, Maine (WJZ) -- A photo of a teen celebrating her birthday alone has gone viral.

The photo, which was taken last year, shows Hallee Sorenson of Bangor, Maine sitting alone -- balloons and all -- at her 18th birthday party.

Her older cousin posted the photo on Facebook on Tuesday. Already, it's been shared more than 100,000 times.

Hallee just happens to have autism. Her cousin says she was anxiously awaiting her friends, but they never arrived.

This year, she's asking people from all over to flood Hallee's mailbox with birthday cards. If you would like to help, her birthday is in July.
