J.J. Cooper is is the Managing Editor of Baseball America.
J.J. joined Ed and Steve to talk about minor prospects for the Orioles who could come into play at the MLB trade deadline.
J.J. started off by talking about which player he would be willing to part with if he was the Orioles GM saying “the sad reality if you are an Orioles fan is that they cannot wade into the deep end of the pool this year…if you want to make some moves you have a few guys but not any top 25 prospects.”
As for the Yankees trading Aroldis Chapman to the Cubs J.J. said “these first two big trades have been fascinating to me for a few reasons…the Yankees acquired one of the better position prospects available right now in Gleyber Torres.”
J.J. went on to talk about how certain teams have set the trade value market, and that market is too high for the Orioles to compete with and that may be a calculated plan by those teams.
