BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A new CBS News poll shows Donald Trump closing in on Hillary Clinton, and how headlines are affecting voter attitudes.

The poll shows a big difference between where they are now and where they were two weeks ago.

According to the newest numbers, Clinton’s lead is shrinking from 9 points two weeks ago, to 3 points today–following a pattern of ups and downs that has characterized this campaign.

  • When voters were asked about recent controversies, 32% of them asked about Clinton’s e-mails say they’re less likely to vote for her.
  • When voters were asked about allegations of sexual assault by Donald Trump, 39% percent said they are less likely to vote for him.
  • And sentiment about voting is lukewarm–less than half polled say they’re very enthusiastic, compared to 62% in 2012. Part of job is to generate enthusiasm, but 92-percent of voters polled have already made up their minds.
