Girl Scouts of Central Maryland Featured on WJZ's Manic Monday

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--It was a sweet way to start the morning here on WJZ, a Manic Monday with the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland.

The girl scouts came to Fells Point Monday morning and brought a big crowd with them.

"It was a great Manic Monday on WJZ, what a crowd," Danita Terry, with the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland. "We had over 30 girl scouts there, their parents and troop leaders--It was great. They're all excited about selling girl scout cookies."

Cookie time means thin mints, caramel delights and Cookies From the Heart.

"Every year we do a service project called Cookies from the Heart," said Terry. "Customers will buy boxes of cookies, then they donate them back to the council and we deliver them to active duty soldiers, as well as teachers, EMT's, police and firefighters all across the central Maryland region and they really appreciate the thank you that comes with the delivery of the cookies."

Terry says on the 100th year of girl scout's tradition there's even a S'more cookie.

"It's chocolate and marshmallows," Terry says. "It's what girl scouts have made famous through camping and now it's in a cookie. It's already become one of our best sellers so we hope people will try it."

Sales of girl scout cookies continue in Baltimore and all across the country through December 5th.
