Wind Advisory In Effect Through Sunday Night

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A wind advisory is in effect for most of Maryland. Wind gusts are possible for up to 50 mph.

WJZ Meteorologist Chelsea Ingram says to expect more of these conditions through Sunday night. Winds are bringing a significant temperature drop in Maryland.

"These winds are ushering in much chillier air through the region. They're associated with a very strong cold front that's pushi its way across the eastern seaboard and its going to be bringing in much cooler air as we head into Sunday."

Meteorlogists at the NOAA National Weather Service say the strongest winds are most likely to come Saturday evening and again Sunday through Sunday evening.

"Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected," says NOAA.

Showers are moving through Saturday evening. Some spots could see some sleet & wet snow mixing in.

We can expect a big temperature drop for Sunday, where highs will be only in the 40s.
