The Norris & Long Show Best Of - Week Of May 20th

This week's edition of the Norris & Long Show Best Of includes interviews with Orioles catcher Caleb Joseph, and ESPN and Baseball America writer Jerry Crasnick.

CALEB JOSEPH

Caleb Joseph, catcher for the Baltimore Orioles, joined Ed and Rob to talk about the Orioles season so far and how he's been performing.

Caleb started by talking about getting a chance to play regularly when Welington Castillo missed some time due to injury saying "in this game confidence breeds confidence, when you get a chance to play everyday you gain that confidence and relax a little bit and your natural talents can come out."

When asked about the injuries the team has suffered in their pitching rotation and bullpen so far this year Caleb said "I think it's big especially with the back end of the bullpen those guys have been grinding big time...I think we scored fewer runs than we were anticipating in the early part of this season and have burned through some of those bullpen guys."

Throughout the course of the interview Caleb talked about his Nashville Predators doing well in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and how well the O's have played even while dealing with big injuries this season.

JERRY CRASNICK

Jerry Crasnick, baseball writer for both ESPN and Baseball America, joined Ed and Rob to take a trip around the league and touch on all the hot topics.

Jerry started by talking about the bullpen struggles going on all around Major League Baseball saying, "I think if you talk to the General Managers of most teams they'll tell you it's the most unpredictable part of any roster because it depends on many factors."

When asked about what is happening with the Giants and Dodgers in the NL West Jerry said, "well the Giants were bad after the All Star break last year, they're a team where it is hard to tell what is ailing them they've gotten a bit older and have cut costs in certain areas...and the Dodgers just seem to have a hard time getting some continuity in the pitching rotation."

Jerry went on to talk about the Championship window for Los Angeles, and who is the team that has surprised him most this season.
