Pedestrian Struck, Killed By MARC Train In Elkridge

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a MARC train early Friday.

Police were called to the tracks near the 5500 block of Levering Avenue around 6:25 a.m.

Investigators believe he was walking along the tracks alone when he was struck. No one on-board the train was injured. It is unknown why the pedestrian was walking in the area.

Detectives are working to determine the pedestrian's identity and notify his next of kin, but he was carrying no wallet or identification. Police say he appears to be an Asian man.

Service was disrupted on MARC's Camden Line as a result. The Penn Line is honoring Camden Line tickets.

This story will updated as more details become available.
